What is Context?
Context is a prediction market platform where you can trade on the outcomes of real-world events. Buy “Yes” if you think something will happen, or “No” if you think it won’t. Prices reflect what the market thinks the probability is.How do I create an account?
Visit context.markets and sign up with Google, X (Twitter), or email. Your account and wallet are created automatically.Do I need crypto to use Context?
You need USDC on Base to trade. You can deposit with a card or transfer crypto from another wallet. You don’t need ETH — we cover all gas fees for you. What is USDC?
USDC is a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar. 1 USDC = $1. It’s what you use to buy and sell on Context. What blockchain is Context on?
Context runs on Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 network. Base offers low fees and fast transactions while maintaining Ethereum’s security.Trading
How do prices work?
Prices range from 1 and represent probabilities. A Yes price of 65 cents means the market thinks there’s about a 65% chance the event happens. What’s the difference between market and limit orders?
- Market orders execute immediately at the best available prices
- Limit orders let you set your price and wait for someone to trade with you
Can I sell before the market resolves?
Yes! You can sell your tokens anytime before resolution. The price you get depends on current market conditions. What fees do I pay?
You pay a small fee when your order is filled. The exact fee is shown before you confirm any trade. Placing limit orders that provide liquidity typically has lower fees. What’s the maximum I can win?
Winning tokens pay $1 each. If you buy Yes at 40 cents and you’re right, you profit 60 cents per share (150% return). Your maximum loss is what you paid for the tokens. Can I lose more than I invested?
No. The maximum you can lose is the amount you paid for your tokens. There’s no margin or leverage.Markets
